This is one of the quilts you could spy yesterday. I got several requests for a better look. I started out making 'Wild Things' from Primitive Pieces by Lynda Hall. After I competed the applique pieces, I remembered the wonky crows I had lying around from a previously abandoned quilt. As luck would have it there were just enough to make the alternate strips. The result was a slightly narrower quilt than Lynda's pattern. Because of it's narrow size I have been able to display it around the house in places where nothing else fits. Posted by Picasa

Libby, Thank you for posting a picture of that quilt. I could see it in a picture of your bedroom but it's nice to see it straight on. :-) It's cute and I like that it's narrow - can be used any place as a decorative piece. Perfect.

It's lovely. I think I might attempt applique once the hexagons are finished. The long narrow idea is great - like Hedgehog's door quilt.

Libby, I'm so glad you posted that pic, had a feeling it was by Lynda, like your version. Suits your new sage rooms.

This is such a cool variation! I love how it looks - and what a great way to use up orphan blocks. Have you sent Lynda a picture? I'm sure she'd love to see it.

It is wonderful! How did you make your wonky flying geese. I tried just free piecing them like Gwen Marston but they either turned out too uniform or not touching and really wierd!

Beautiful quilt, Signs of spring, Flowers of summer, Colors of fall, Memories to hold in the winter...Definitely a year round quilt.

Nice recycling of "other" quilt bits. I like it. I like that it is narrow (note to self).

Very pretty and I think it fits perfectly in that room. Sometime we have to make things our own and plau with the patterns to get something better that works for our house! You did a great job and got a wonderful wall hanging that fits lots of places!

Very nice quilt! Wonky Crows look like flying geese to me. What is the difference?

Libby, another beautiful quilt. I'm going to have to get to work on the many fall quilts I have started. Wow, I didn't even notice the wonky flying geese until you pointed them out. Haven't heard them called crows, but good that you could use leftover blocks for such a nice project.

Very nice!! Inspired actually since the pieces were from another project initially. Can you tell that I am behind on my reading?

The "crows" look great! And your applique is just wonderful..wish I liked to do it even occasionally, but no...I don't. Hugs, Finn
