October already. Kids are settled into their daily school routine, the first leaf from my neighbor's yard blew over today, plans are being made for Harvest Festivals and Halloween costumes ... and I'm still trying to figure out where the summer went. I do love fall - a time to slow down and prepare to renew yourself for the spring that is sure to come.

I am going on a little trip this week -- to the mountains where I can feel the crisp morning air, warm sunshiny afternoons, smell the pine needles and take in the wonderful colors that mother nature brings us at this time of year.

I'll leave you with fall quilt, pattern unknown. It was made during my 'why bother to make a label' period. I just know it has some of my favorite colors, lots of brushed cottons and looks good on my dining room table. See you all next week. Posted by Picasa

Love the quilt even if you don't know the name, hate putting on labels too. Love the brushed plaids, great colors. Have fun!

I like the way the plaids are on the angle in the corners. They "wake" up the quilt. Have fun in the mountains!

Libby, this is such a beautiful quilt. It looks good outside as well.
I really like what you said "I do love fall - a time to slow down and prepare to renew yourself for the spring that is sure to come." Even if it is easier to say in California than in Ohio.

Hope you enjoy your break away. Sounds lovely. I understand about that label thing - I've never made one, but I intend to start now.

Thanks for posting the photo of your quilt. It's lovely. I have a pattern for a quilt very similar to yours which i would like to make one day.

Have a wonderful time Libby! I'm green with envy - I'd love to spend a quiet week in the mountains - hiking and quilting.

Love the fall quilt - my very favorite kind of quilt - fall colors and warm brushed cottons.

Looks wonderful and just right for the fall colors. Package arrived today--thanks!!

Have a wonderful time while you are away, Libby.

What a neat autumn quilt! I love the look of it. I hear you mention brushed cottons so often, and I think I know what they are, but am not sure I have ever used any in a quilt.
Hope you have a wonderful time relaxing and taking in "autumn". Hugs, Finn

ANother fabulous quilt!! I think I've seen a similar pattern in one of my books!

I really must get better about putting labels on mine too. I still have some with no label, but I can remember them so far.

Have a nice relaxing trip!
