It's time to think about decorating for the holidays. I gave Hubby a reprieve and postponed the full-blown decorating extravaganza until the upcoming weekend. I did take down the fall decorations and started hanging Christmas quilts since they are not stored in the garage rafters. This quilt is called Tree Angel from Ginger Cookie Company (I think.) I made her in 2001 and she just makes me smile.
I love getting out my Christmas decorations. It's like seeing old friends as I take ornaments from their boxes and find a place to display them. So many memories are kept in the rafters and I just get filled with excitement when the time comes to unpack them all.
I'm looking forward to sharing some of my favorites and seeing yours, too. Happy Decorating. Posted by Picasa

We got all our boxes down from the garage rafters and have been decking the halls the last few days. I'll be glad when it's decorated and I can just enjoy it..
Your quilt is so beautiful. I am just in awe of your work...

This is oh so cute! No wonder she makes you smile--lots of plaids? I don't know how much I will put out as DJ keeps taking away my available decorating space. It may very well look like a "scrooge house" this year.

At last my bloglines update all blogs. What a fun way to use log cabin. The angel is so cute. We do not decorate for christmas yet in Norway. But upcomming weekend I will put my advent star in the window and the andventlights on the table. I looked through my boxes and found the advent tablerunners.

Oh, she is very pretty!! I really have only one christmas quilt and I simply must work to fix that over the next year!!

I do understand exactly what you mean about "discovering" all the ornaments and thing each year again. I love to pull in all the boxes and open them up each year!!

I love to "discover" things that have been put away too. This is a beautiful quilt. I'm sure it was a joy and pleasure to uncover and display it again. I need to get started on my holiday decorating. I haven't done it in a while, but this year, I want to make it extra special.
I've been wanting to make a log cabin quilt but it seemed too boring, but this one makes it extra special.
