A little bit of housecleaning -- several of you asked about the pattern source for the block I posted yesterday. I used Marsha McCloskey's Feathered Star Quilt Blocks I. The completed block in the picture is 17" -- just like the book said it would be. Imagine me doing the Happy Dance all around the room on that one. Today I added a border. Just like the 'design inspiration' in the book. Not wanting to be a total copycat, I'm moving on from there. Next I plan to turn the block, now 25", on point and add corners, square in a square style, where I can do some applique. I have an abundance of the little hst's that will more than likely make another appearance in an additional border. Will it end there? Stay tuned . . .

i didn't get a chance to comment yesterday, but I loved the plaid star. The plaid really sets it off. Sounds like you have big plans for it!

Beautiful plaid star Libby! It looks just like you, my primitive friend. Belated Happy Birthday. I just had one too. I am not revealing my age any longer. I like yours much better!

That is a beautiful plaid block. I'm not sure I could make that pattern with plaids, but I do love your blocks.

Can hardly wait - I think it's going to get more wonderful by the day. You'll have me digging in my plaids and starting another project - and I don't need to do that!

Hi libby, hugs for my very dear friend, *VBS*. I love your feathered block. What a great combination of fabrics you have chosen.
It seems unique to me(the block I mean) and very authentic to an older time.
You just amaze me with those little triangles!! Sure do wish we had the ability to sit and stitch together..*VBS* Hope both you and the puppy are doing well. Big hugs, Finn

Looks fiddly but really great. Who can't love those plaids. You have just reminded me about the 2 boxes of cotton shirts in my studio that are to be sewn into something this year, would be right up your alley. Fly over for a weekend, we'll see what we can do! (I have 40 degree heat, a pool, a cute dog and lots of coffee, does any of that convince you?) LOL Tracey
