Some girls come into the world with stars in their eyes . . . Shirley is one of those girls. She was the only girl to be completed before we came back to California. Since we've been here, she's acted like a spoiled child. She has begged and pleaded with me. I ignored her and her friends. She pestered and cajoled. I tried not to listen. Then I just couldn't take it any longer.
Shirley really does have stars in her eyes. She has finally convinced me to allow her the one thing so many girls with a dream of fame aspire to when they come west seeking fame and fortune . . . .
Shirley wants a nose job! The procedure is only partially complete at this point. Already she's much happier. When the bandages have been permanently removed and all the swelling is gone, she'll be back to show her new, improved self.

What a hoot, thanks for the huge laugh. Hope the swelling doesn't take too long so we can see the new and improved nose.

Her nose was kinda dark...she looks better already.

Oh, I needed that good laugh! Thank you Libby. Now, you see I kinda liked her nose - she looked unique. I hope you don't 'improve' it too much. She'll resent you, if you do. We already know she can get to you.

Thanks for the chortle.

LOL Libby, Shirley is beautiful, and the nose job just makes her more special.

I enjoyed reading your five things meme. You've got several things already in progress - the garden, etc. I too am hurt by other's remarks, but I have been trying to rate thir remarks by their importance. Is this person important to me, and do I care about their opinion? You multiply their remark by their importance to you, and bring it down to size!

I'm generally against plastic surgery, but between us, I think this might be for the best. ;-)

You can't blame a gal for wanting a nose. Hope it turns out to suit her and you.

If my nose were as big hers was, I guess I'd be asking for a nose job too. She'll be oh-so-pretty afterwards! :)

Does this happen to all California girls? Can't wait to see what the fabric surgeon does.

Was it wrinkled? Maybe she could have had a botox treatment? Plastic surgery seems much more painful. I can't wait to see her after the bruises heal! Too funny!

O M Gosh you make me smile. I've seen Shirley on several blogs and I soooo agree. I know she is primative but that honker just stands out and begs to be fixed. You're too funny!

Well I can't say I blame Shirley, she did have quite a honker :O)LOL,

Well, Shirley's nose was pretty big the poor little thing! Thanks for making me smile.

I personally like Shirley sans a nose! The nose takes away from her beautiful eyes!

YOu are too funny!

Too funny!!! I agree with your suggestion for cosmetic surgery. Your story reminded me of an angel applique that a friend of mine designed. I think her name was Grace (the angel, not the friend). When the pattern was sold as a kit, for some reason, she used a dotted fabric for the face. From that point on, Grace was also known as "Angel with liver spots."

Oh she is wonderful! What fun!
