Now that the holiday weekend is over, it is time to get back into a routine. As I was going around straightening, I came across a package that arrived in my mailbox last week that I had not yet shared. In mid-November, Kathie at Inspired By Antique Quilts had a give away. She made up kits of plaid fabrics from her stash that would make into a little quilt she designed and had published in McCalls magazine. It was a give-a-way that I just couldn't miss out on trying to win - and I was one of the lucky winners.
Just look at this happy little stack of fabrics. I'm going to get stitching them together this afternoon.
As if that weren't enough, Kathie put in not one, but two more packages of plaids strips from her stash. Be still my heart! These fabrics couldn't have found a happier home. I have plans to make the bed quilt on the cover of All Things Primitive from Backyard Quilts. I have some strips cut already and these will be added to the mix.
Thank you, Kathie. I can hardly wait to get started.
Before I do, I want to finish up a couple of things that are already in progress. Yesterday I finished selecting and prepping the flowers, leaves and stems for Church Cat. I think rather than finishing as a wall hanging, I may make a pillow cover from this piece. It would look sweet on the bed or on the sofa.
Harper is still waiting to get back to her normal routine. We had a good bit of rain last week which we needed very much. Harper might not agree. Some of her favorite places to patrol and lounge in the backyard are still quite wet and muddy.
We keep this towel on the hearth by the back door for wiping paws during 'rainy day protocol.' I think she's trying to tell me that we could use it to wipe off mud, too. Ahhh, but I know different. She'll sneak in when I'm not looking and leave a muddy little trail all around the house - you see, I have seen this movie - many, many times.

Oh, you were a lucky winner of that great kit. WooHoo! I adore Kathie so much! I got a sweet package from her last week, as well but for something different. I'm planning to share later today.

Congratulations! I love giveaways!

Tandi hates it when I wipe her paws, but she puts up with it. I think she'd prefer that I stop the "leak" in her "bathroom".

"right top tall" Ha! you make up names for your piece like I do to tell them apart! I got a package from Kathie a little while ago and used the strips to make the backing for Spooky Tree and Stick Tree from her strips...plus a little something extra for a quilt to be started soon!
Cool beans!

Love how the cat is turning out!
