Watching the weather reports on the news this morning let me know that many folks will be enjoying a white Christmas this year. We had a couple of nice rainy days this week, but there is just no chance of snowfall in my neck of the woods. No pretty ice formations or piles of snow in my yard - these are the things I found today on an early morning tour.
Even with things like citrus and roses, the air has been chilly. That makes wonderful weather for hand quilting. Here's some of the progress I've on my Amish Pinwheels. At about a block a day, it is slow but satisfying work.
Santa visited my mailbox this week. He brought a package all the way from McIrish Annie on the east coast.
Isn't this little guy sweet? He now hangs on the door to alert us when Santa arrives. I really hope to get a good look at him this year. Thank you Annie - you are a sweetie!
Today I'm making one last trip out into the retail world. One item on my gift list has been a little elusive to find. Then I have only write our Christmas dinner menu and make a grocery list for the fixin's. How in the world did it get to be less than a week until Christmas?

A bit of rain would be welcome right now - to wash away the white stuff. We had to put the chains on the car to go out yesterday! At least my shopping and mailing was finished before all of this began.

I was admiring the very large sundog on the way to work this morning. I guess we will have a white Christmas again this year, but I only hope theKid drives safely on his way home for Christmas. Thanks for reminding me about making a menu. I need to do that.

Oh my goodness, that little snowman is adorable!! Is there a pattern for it somewhere or did she make it up herself? I must make one of those!

We will be having a white but, very cold, Christmas here! Yay, I am excited! I have to have snow for Christmas. :~)

It's bizarre how the time goes so fast just before Christmas, eh??!?
We are enjoying the piles of snow from 2 storms this week...
shoveling when we should be baking and wrapping gifts.
Love the quilting on your Amish quilt...I think you should get your DD to take a photo of you hand quilting, while you are sitting beside your Christmas tree and post it for us to enjoy vicariously!

OMGoddness! Look at that tree!!!! Did it have the colored disk to change colors on it?? We were all just talking about crazy trees last night!! Spritz cookies and peanut butter pinwheel candy tomorrow- a few gifts to wrap and we're ready for the jolly one to visit. If I don't get back to visit, have a wonderful Christmas,
