I'm doing the happy dance. I have my first finish for 2009 - Square Dance. More good news - it's a bit of a rainy day. Combine that with my quilt holder has started the new semester at school and you are left with a photo that doesn't exactly show the whole quilt, but you get the idea.
It was such a fun easy pattern that I'm going to do it again, sort of. I need to make a couple of baby quilts in fairly quick order. I went digging through my books and found this book by Sarah Sporrer. I plan to use one of the applique motifs for the center of the quilt then reverse the borders, two rows of 9 patches on either side of a blank strip that I can use for applique. Is that as clear as mud? I can see it clearly in my mind. Better get myself off to the cubby to get stitching. That way I'll have photos to help explain my plan.

It would probably make more sense to me if I'd had real coffee this morning instead of the decaf stuff!

Well, that one is beautiful, so I'm betting the baby quilt will be just as lovely!

I'm sure it will make perfect sense once we see it! Looks great.

I need to do a baby girl quilt soon too, but nothing with animals or baby prints for me. I'll think of something sweet and somewhat prim to do.

Great job quilting it.
simple but adds life to the quilt in mho.
looks like a great book , I have a lot of her patterns /books I like her style too
Did one of her bom quilt as individual little quilts, I did the ones I liked and then switch them out every month or every other month when the mood hits!
Sounds like a plan for a new quilt good luck.

Bootiful! Is the background muslin? What is the finished size? Did you use fusable for the applique? Questions, questions, I have questions. I'm sewing a bunch of 2" squares from all those strips I cut on New Year's Day for various projects. Square Dance could go into the queue. I'll have to add it to my bucket list.

I'd have commented sooner on just how pretty your quilt turned out but computer woes for the past two days. The quilting is simply and basic and beautiful! The colors go perfectly over here.....hint.
