A Day In The Life Of A Simple Girl

Put away the dishes.
Bake bread.
Run the vacuum.
Do laundry.
Look at that temp (the day's high was 96, but the patio is extra hot with the morning sun blazing.)
Makes for fast drying of that laundry.
Make lunch.
The world's best lunch date.
Spend the afternoon under the ceiling fan happily sewing away.
I'll leave you with a quilt from on top of the closet. This one is called Apple Crisp from the book Log Cabin Fever.
Another label!
This one has a block from the front and a recipe for Apple Crisp copied from a vintage cookbook that belonged to my mom.

It's been blazing hot here too. It is summertime in April for sure!

96? Whew! I just love that Apple Crisp quilt! Thanks for sharing a day in your life, Libby, doesn't look altogether that different from mine, except for the temperature!

I heard it was hot out there. You can keep it this time-I don't want those temperatures. Cold here today but supposed to be in the 70's this weekend, finally. Maybe we will get some spring this year.

From one Simple Girl to another, I am having the same kind of day, but my weather is gusting winds and temps in the sunny 40's. Love the quilt and lunch looked pretty inviting too, lol. :o)

Hey, I like those red bowls! You do like red, don't you. And the bread looks luscious.
I have wanted to make the Apple Crisp quilt for ages but have not gotten to it. I like the idea of the recipe on the bag label.
Golly, it sure is hot there! I hope you have the air conditioning running.

I want your day! I'm going nuts at work right now, so I could use it *now* ok! LOL

Why are you baking bread on the hottest day so far this year??? Must be to make that scrumptious lunch, I bet. Your veggies make me long for Farmer's Market to start up again. I hope to make pickles this year and I can't grow cukes no matter what I try.

ps: I'm lovin' your little "above the closet" quilt show. Keep em coming.

Your baking over there! Not the bread either! Hot day!!

You know I love the quilt...as I always do when I pop in for my fix at Libby's place!

Sounds like a wonderful day except for the high temp. I'm looking forward to seeing what you are making and I love the apple crisp quilt. :)

What? No watergun fights with the squirrels?

Of course, if it's 96 out there, the squirrels would probably love it.

(just to let you know, my verification word is "ativan". The princess should love that one!)

Great day.....the only other thing that I did besides dishes, laundry, the vacuum, quilt a little.......was to play under the sprinkler with the grandkiddos.

Wow-- 96--- We got 5 inches of snow. It sounds crazy.. but after the snow melted it was so dry we had fire danger warnings, so we need to be grateful for the water. April showers bring May flowers--- even if they are snow showers... Keep smiling.

Your days sounds pretty much like mine. Well, except the lunch date, Randy works 1 1/2 hrs away from home.

I love that quilt! I wonder if you could ever create anything that I don't love! hehe The label is so very clever!

As usual, another great quilt by you! Love the colors and love that it's finished! Personally, I love having a routine.....takes less brain power!

I've gotten horrible about doing labels on quilts and it's so easy to do it's really horrid to leave them off..I mean really simple. I need to make a resolution to get out a tan fabric and a marker and do some labels!

Nice lunch date indeed! Your simple day looks like you accomplish a great deal! And I love that chicken quilt! Very cute!

Hi Libby. That is a perfect day for sure! Your Apple Crisp quilt is awesome. Wow, I thought we had a heat wave here in IL today by hitting 73. LOL Thanks for the great post.

Hi Libby!

Oh how I miss So Cal! What a great way to spend Earth Day. I did pretty much the same things as you, except I didn't bake the bread and my lunch date was a handsome 2 year old! Wait a minute...that's the same thing that I did yesterday! Hmmmm...
