Talk about stash reduction!
All of my quilting supplies are about to be boxed up as part of the declutter/make our home look roomy campaign. I knew that I was not going to be able to do without something to keep my hands busy, so not everything will be packed away.
In order to give myself some variety to assuage boredom, I've chosen several projects that have been on-going or categorized as UFOs. All but one will not require my sewing machine. Of course, both hexagon projects are a part of the mix. Also there is the queen-sized whole cloth quilt, a wool applique pillow, A Penny Saved, supplies and patterns for punch needle and even a knitting project. If that doesn't keep me busy, then there will be nothing left for me to do but shop.
We got the ball rolling with a realtor today. We were so pleased to hear that all the work we have doing is getting our home right where it needs to be. We have a few maintenance items scheduled over the next week to tweak the curb appeal which puts on target for listing on July 1.
We were given a couple of suggestions for taking out some small pieces of furniture in the main living space. But the best news of all - I don't need to paint over the mural in our bedroom. I've always known that it might not be every one's cup of tea and that it would probably be painted over eventually. Still I will sleep well tonight know that I don't have to do the deed.

Are you renting a storage unit for your stuff or going into the garage? Just yell if you get bored. I can help you out with a project.

Gee whiz...i think you have enough projects there to last you all year!!
How is the whole cloth coming along? Can we (your curious blog stalkers) get an update!?!?

Woohoo! You get to keep the mural!

What about your destination? Will you be renting for a while first or will you be making a trip out to househunt?
Will I see you on HGTV? 8^)

I've watched lots of those "get the house ready to sell" shows and it can be demoralizing to the owners to remove their personalities from their homes. So I'm glad you get to keep your mural! All those projects sound like a lot of WORK but definitely will keep your mind off your move!

You sound like you have quite enough to stay busy!

Actually I'm surprised that she didn't say paint it. Especially after watching those shows on tv like everyone else...where they rip your house to shreds! You may still get a buyer who requests that it be done before they move in. It's lovely, and totally you, but honestly it wouldn't go with my decor and I'd hate to have to be the one to paint it. BUT...you should have seen this place when we looked and bought!! Ugg!

I'm impressed by your long list of handwork projects. Sounds like you are moving along quickly getting ready for the big move. It would take me a year and a truckload of money to get my place in shape to sell! Just the sewing room alone would take me weeks to clear the decks.

When it's right, it all comes together--- There's someone out there that will love your home. The biggest problem you are going to have is they'll probably want quilts thrown in!!!

I think the packing is one of the main reasons I have not moved. I wouldn't know where to start!!

Glad things are moving along. Hopefully you will sell as quickly as Jeanne @ spiral did!

Good luck with the sale of your home. Add me to the list of those who want to see a pic of the mural. Take care, and remember to take time to rest, that is one of the most important things you and your family can do. Is the Princess moving with you?

Sounds like everthing is going well, Libby! I had to laugh about nothing left but shopping - that's happened to me and I now have enough to pack up 2 more boxes! I wish you all the best in getting your home sold and on to new beginnings!
Cheers!

So glad you don't have to paint over your mural! Someone else will love it, I am sure! It is so hard to put away the sewing stuff. We crave being close to that! Good luck on the packing!

I'm so happy to hear that you'll get double frequent quilter miles for those selected projects *VBS* You can keep piecing or quilting and still not have the mess, AND maybe one less UFO on the list!
So happy to hear its all coming together well for the big "selling" part. I know it's a lot of work, but it'll be worth it *VBS* Big hugs, Finn

Every once in a while I think it would be nice to move into a house that better fit our needs. Then I think of the packing involved and since we don't "have" to move I dismiss the thought. I don't envy your packing!

It sounds like you have the work done - and it always is so much work. I love the closet. I have that blue container too. love it
Sure hope you can sell. Times are hard now but maybe not so bad in your area.

It would be great if you finished all your projects you have in reach, then you can go shopping :)
