I have a design wall! Okay, not really a design wall so much as a design batt pinned to a quilt that is hanging on the wall. But it is a change from my 'design floor.'
Here is the reason for making the switch from floor to wall.Oh sure, this view doesn't look like there would be any trouble. That's because she's exhausted from playing with my blocks and fabrics.
So what is on the wall, you ask.
I have been wanting to make a Carpenter's Star for sometime now. It is really not all that complicated. I think it took longer to get everything arranged with the proper orientation than it did to stitch to pieces.
Last evening I put the last stitches in the binding of this quilt.
It is a project that I worked on via text message with a California Quilt Pal. What fun to snap pictures and text progress, rants and encouragements. Technology sure closes the distance gap. It's the next best thing to being there.

Looks like quilting is exhausting for Miss Daisy. I love quilt pieces that look so difficult that are really easy. You sound good...like you are having fun....

So Daisy inspired you to figure out a new design wall, lol. Atta girl, Daisy! She's grown. I agree, stitching and bitching, um, I mean chatting makes applique even more fun, rofl. I want to make a Carpenter's Star quilt. Your's looks rich in color and has very nice definition to make the design pop. Happy sewing day, Libby!

I made a quilt years ago using the Carpenter Star. It was a very contemporary quilt because of the fabrics I used. It was a gift, thus not my style of fabrics.

Ahhh, Daisy looks so sweet. :-) She wouldn't cause any problems, would she? lol

I don't recognize the Cheri quilt you are making. Is that one of her older patterns. I love the background fabric you used. That's fun you got to make it "together" with a friend, too.

Just curious, Are you stippling over the appliques?

The star is beautiful. Poor Daisy what can she do now? Will she have to jump to get the blocks you used to have on the floor for HER?

I want to do what Daisy is doing!! Well, not the playing with mommy's block part but the napping part!

Love the quilts even if it's just a sneak peek.

Somebody needs a tummy rub.

Tandi has taken to pulling the scrap strings out of my basket and strewing them around the house. I believe she's leaving a trail for me to follow and give her tummy rubs.

I can imagine what a little rascal she is! Being a beagle mother I live with everything at counter height. Even the ribbush bin is up on the bench. I had some toilet rolls on the kitchen table yesterday waiting to go upstairs, and when I came home one was shredded on the floor. I particularly remember pushing them back from the edge of the table before I went out.

Daisy is trying to help! :-) When I wnat to lay something out on the floor, I wait till the cats have fallen asleep. And then hope they stay asleep till I'm done!

Your carpenter's star is wonderful.
