Georgia claims to be the peach state but South Carolina has more peaches per capita. Just a little known fact that I like to brag about. So glad peach season is here!!! What are you doing with yours?
this post made me smile I felt the same way the other day when I went to the farmers market and found strawberriesKathie
Fresh juicy sweet peaches are just the most awesome summer fruit. We usually find the best ones in July and August in our area and I just savor every bite. Our local supply is always precarious with late freezes or hail. This year is not supposed to be very good. I have not bought one yet, as they are hard as a rock in the store now. Hope to get to a farmer's market in the next few weeks to get some good freestone.
I love fresh fruit, my favorite is nectarines, no fuzz, lol.Debbie
As great as apple season??? Pumpkin season??? Tough call... I think you bring the best out in those peaches. ...Ice cream? Cobbler? Naked Peaches on the Porch? What's your favorite?
Lucky you, Libby, We're not quite there yet, but I'm ready with a new recipe called Peach Blueberry Buckle!Cheers!
Yummalicious! Love the peaches and the box! Had my first nectarine of the season today and it was juice-running-down-the-arm delicious!
Living in the Cherry Capital of the World (Traverse City, MI) we're getting ready for Cherry Festival (over 4th of July). LOVE summer stone fruits ... peaches, cherries, nectarines, apricots but have to admit there is NOTHING better than a really delicious, juicy peach with the juice running down your hands while you're biting into it! Have you tried them grilled with maple syrup basted on them? OMGosh!!!!
Louise just told me it was peach season in CA right now…. then I told her.. too bad because Im allergic to them… :o((( but then on the other hand they tell me its melon season as well…so I guess it will be melons then when visiting CA..;O)))kviltstina at gmail dot com
