Stitching down binding is my favorite part of quilting. If you need me after the last stitch is in place, you will find me waiting In the laundry....that moment a new quilt comes fresh from the dryer is just the best!

I remember reading on a blog a few years ago that as soon as the quilt came out of the dryer she wrapped up in it then put it on the bed. She always slept under it the first night before giving it away (if that is what it was meant for).

That is so great that you love putting on the binding - for some reason it just scares the heck out of me! I've got five (!) quilts that I need to get the binding on and I've decided to make that my goal before I start anymore quilts.....I figure that after putting on the binding on five quilts I should be pretty good at it when they are all done. At least that is my hope. Fingers crossed. It's just so great to read that someone loves doing it!!

I love the quilt right out of the dryer too. I always sleep under each quilt.

had to smile at this post, I used to love to do bindings until I was so backlogged with binding this past year.
I still have a few more to do....hmm now that the fall is almost here maybe I will like having the quilt on my lap or once they are all done I will enjoy one at a time again :)

Permission to sit still and just breath. Your mind gets this little chance to meander on other things as progress continues to a great finish...It's a great perk about quilting...

Bindings are my favorite part too! That last stitch is always a little bittersweet...

I am with you! I really enjoy having the quilt on my lap and stitching the binding...a happy ending you might say. Nothing like it!
