Still no quilting content to share. This summer just doesn't seem to be 'The Summer of Quilts'. The quilt pals don't get together to stitch in July and August. It seems that the social aspect has become a key ingredient for me.
In the meantime, Hubby and I signed up for the Tinkerbell 10k next January. We have been walking regularly since his surgery last fall putting in 3 to 5 miles a day 5 to 6 days a week.
Hubby was once a runner - cross country in high school, USMC pft's, numerous 5k, 10k, half and full marathons. Me, I don't run - ever and I don't intend to start now. Yet the lure of a tutu, glitter, and Disneyland call to me. Walking is allowed but there is minimum pace. With six months still to train, I made the minimum pace today! I may be the last person to cross the finish line, but I will cross it - no doubt in a cloud of pixie dust and a triumphant smile.

I'm ba-aack.  The computer issue has been resolved (easily and quite inexpensively.)  In addition, Hubby and I had a nice little get-a-way last week to celebrate the 4th.  We didn't go far, but far enough.  We enjoyed live music, fireworks displays, got massages, and time together.  All good news.  Bad blogging news - no quilting content, once again.  Not to say there won't be  . . . . someday.  But not today.
In exciting (to me) news, Hubby had the brilliant idea to bring out and hook up my old stereo.  I have been complaining for some months now about the horrible radio reception in this house.  It finally devolved to the point that I could not listen to AM radio if any appliance was in use and FM stations are sometimes difficult to tune in on a digital radio.  While I can listen to just about any station via the Internet, I don't care to.
And now I don't have to.
It looks great but best of all it sounds great.  Being able to actually 'tune-in' a station is a delight.  And yes, that is an 8 track player  . . . . it still works!
There was a brief discussion about the possibility of getting some new speakers.  In the end, the originals won out.  The whole set up is like having a long-lost member of the family return.  Heck, when we were first married, those speakers not only provided sound but were pressed into service as end tables.
I think I'm going to suggest we get out the turntable next.  While we don't have many 8 tracks on hand, albums we have in abundance.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, I seem to have started a little hydroponic herb garden.
Many herbs in the market now come already rooted and ready to go - just add water.  Simple and tasty.  The nuts in the foreground are another recipe from the Clean Food cookbook.   While not exact, this recipe is quite similar.  I used pumpkin pie spice and no salt.  I urge you to try out different spice combinations.  The results are yummy.

Nuts! Computer is on the fritz, but not before allowing me to mark all blogs as read on Feedly. Have a stellar 4th of July. Be back next week.
